Hi guys,
Was looking for info on the Maybach 57S and your website popped up. Wonderful listing of your MB models - I haven't seen anything more comprehensive. A great help to the MB enthusiast!
My brother and I are India's largest collectors of scale models and we have a sizeable collection of MB models. Please do visit our photo album www.picasaweb.google.com/autofestcityindia and let us have your feedback.
All pics are by me. We have a database of around 38,000 (Yes, you got that right) pics of all our scale models, with detail shots as well.
Enjoy!!!

Hi Dave,

your 280SL is definitely known as Pagoda :)

Try using a model from Anson or Giodi, you will have to remove the original paint (with Lavacol or some other paint remover), then spray the car with primer and after that with a black color to suit your 1:1 car. The interior can be painted right away, buy some black color for plastic (Revell - for plastic models, it isn't the best quality but it will do the trick). Wash the interior before painting :) There's a lot of work with such a project, I must remid you there can be a lot of problems down the road with it (chipped paint - paint on diecast model starts to crack :/ ).

Good luck with it ;)

Post some pictures on the forum if you start building your scale down model of Pagoda.

Regards,
Biggie

Hello!
I own a 1971 280SL Coupe/Roadster in Dark Olive Green W/ a black interior. Any suggestions as to how best to "kitbash" this car in 1/18 or larger scale diecast?
Thanks very much!
Dave
P.S: I don't mean to sound like a complete cretin, but is my 280SL considered a "pagoda"? I had not heard this term until today.

That's great news Gunther.

Thumbs are the way to go, it looks much more exiting right. It is clear already there will be plenty of work with preparing all the thumbs for the model list :)
